I bought two Moda Reunion by Sweetwater charm packs with a $10 Fab Shop Hop gift certificate I won for doing the online shop hop. I paid an additional $9.75.

I bought the background, backing, and binding fabric at FM Store, a fabric store in Springfield, Missouri.
I started the quilt when my mom was visiting when my oldest child was still very young (a few months old at most). She had gifted me a walking foot for Christmas, and this was my first attempt at using it.
I cut one of the charm pack squares into fourths (2.5” squares). Then I laid the squares evenly spaced on the background fabric and glued them down using a glue stick. I layered the top, batting, and backing together. I used the walking foot on my Bernina 930 Record to stitch 1/4” inside the edge in straight lines all across the quilt. As I started to quilt from the center out, the backing fabric started to not be as flat as I hoped and was creating bunches. I knew the fabric would pucker when I started to quilt in the opposite direction. I got frustrated and quit. I threw the unfinished quilt in a corner of our bedroom and left it there. Crumpled into a ball of frustration.
Fast forward two years. I discovered that my original walking foot was not working properly. Mom traded me hers. I picked this project back up with the motto “finished is better than perfect.” I was able to quickly finish quilting it and put the binding on it. The backing shifted very slightly during the quilting, so part of the selvage peeks out from behind the binding. However, the massive puckers I was afraid of didn't happen because the walking foot eased the fabric in!
Overall, I love it!
