Ugly Tumbler Quilt
When I first started quilting, I would often purchase fabric from garage sales for little to nothing. I wasn't too discriminating on style or quality - I was more concerned with cheap! That led to a few fabrics in my stash that are....well....ugly!

You win some, you lose some
Sometimes I get hare-brained ideas. The type that you have no idea if they will work out or not, but you can't stop thinking about it, so you have to just get started. This is one of those ideas.
I've been wanting to try some open fabric weaving for quite awhile (and still have one large project using the method in my head!). I finally decided that the combination of the Pantone Quilt Challenge and "May I" off-season Project Quilting challenge was the right time to just jump right in and try something off-the-wall and new!

TGIFF - A Linky Party!
Welcome to TGIFF (Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday)!!
Today is my very first time hosting TGIFF and my very first linky party! (I'm crossing my fingers it works!)
I have two finishes that I'm sharing this week - both for my local quilt shop's Row by Row! I shared the finishes on Monday in separate posts, but finishes are always worth celebrating!
First is a mini quilt I made using the shop's fabric license plate.
It was a quick make, and a perfect fit for this year's Row by Row theme, "On the Go!" Read more about the quilt on this post.

Chuggin' Along!
Are you planning on participating in the Row by Row Experience this year? This is my second year writing the pattern for my local quilt shop - The Stitchin' Post in Willow Springs, Missouri. (See last year's Row here.)
License to Shop
Do you participate in the Row by Row Experience? It's a quilt shop hop with participating shops all over the world! Each shop has a free pattern based on the theme (this year is "On the Go!") that you can pick up in their store. This is the second year that my local quilt shop has asked me to write the pattern for their Row. (See last year's Row here and this year's here.) In addition to a themed Row pattern, shops also offer fabric license plates as a souvenir for your travels.

Quilt Market Prep
This week is International Quilt Market! Quilt Market is an industry trade show where quilt shop owners, designers, and quilt-related businesses all gather to learn about all the latest and greatest gadgets and designs. The show happens twice a year, and this spring it is in St. Louis - and I get to go!
I've been brainstorming ways that I can make the most of my time at Market, and so that has led to some fun sewing projects!

Party Pop!
Eleven months ago, I got an email from Amanda, the owner of Stash Builder Box, asking if I would like to design an exclusive quilt pattern for their monthly subscription boxes. Of course I wanted to be a part of the fun!
Fast forward almost a year, and it's finally time to share my quilt! Meet Party Pop!

An Apple for a Teacher
It's that time of year again - school's almost out! As a prior teacher, I can attest that the teacher's are just as excited as more excited than the kids! Let's be honest. Being a teacher is hard. They've spent seven plus hours a day for the past one-hundred eighty school days with a room full of...let's just say diverse...kids. Your kid is likely the best of the bunch, but then there's that one kid... The least we should do is get that teacher a cup of coffee! Better yet, a bottle of wine!
And what better pairing is there than wine and a handmade gift? Ha!
