It has been so wonderful seeing all of the Exploding Heart quilts made during the quilt along!! I LOVE seeing them pop up in my social media feeds!
This week, I finished my all pink version! This is the FIFTH Exploding Heart quilt I've made now!

This quilt started with ALL solid pink fabrics from Riley Blake Designs!

I was not able to get fat quarters, so I used 1/3 yard cuts instead. That meant I had enough for a scrappy binding too! Here are all the Riley Blake Confetti Cottons colors I used:
Piggy Pink
Piglet Pink
Razzmatazz
Tea Rose
Tickled Pink
Tickle Me Pink
And I used the very pale Ballerina pink for the background fabric.
I used my AccuQuilt GO! to cut all the pieces. It only took 28 minutes to cut ALL the triangles for the whole quilt!! You can even watch me do it HERE!
At a quilt retreat a few weeks ago, I sewed up all the blocks and finished the quilt top! (I made the quilt top for this one there too!)
My husband is a great quilt holder! Even in 0 degree weather with wind! And this was just the quilt top, so it was extra challenging!
While it snowed outside and temperatures dropped below zero (for the first time in over a hundred years in our area!), I put the quilt on the longarm. I used Riley Blake Confetti Cottons Tea Rose for the back and Warm & Natural batting.
I had the perfect thread in my stash too - Aurifil 40wt #2425 Bright Pink.
I free-motion quilted loops on the quilt, throwing in a heart every once in awhile too. I didn't count how many, but just enough to make it a fun I Spy game for my kids!
The leftover pinks became a scrappy binding. I cut the pieces 2 1/4" wide and about 12 1/2" long.
Like always, I machine sewed the binding on (tutorial here).
I even remembered to add one of my satin labels!
I am so in love with this all pink version!
I've now made five Exploding Heart quilts!
This one is headed to my local quilt shop to hang out on their wall for awhile. It will be fun to go and visit it!
Be sure to check out #explodingheartquilt on Instagram to see some other great ones made by other quilters too! I get so giddy scrolling through and seeing them all!
