It's always such a fun day when I get to play with new fabric! Jennifer Thomas of Curlicue Creations asked if I would like to sew with some of her new Berry Crush fabric collection from Island Batik, and of course I jumped at the chance! 

Fabric Shoelaces: A Tutorial

Do you have projects on your someday list that just never seem to bubble to the top?? I have lots of those! Twice a year, I go to a quilt retreat, and I pick something off that list to work on there. I've come to really look forward to experimenting and doing something just to scratch an itch! 

The project I chose for my recent retreat was making homemade shoelaces for a pair of shoes!

In Memory of Ryan

One year ago this weekend, my husband's best friend passed away. It was unexpected, and it has been difficult navigating the world without him. My oldest son was named after him, and we loved him dearly.

Shortly after his passing, I asked his parents if I could make a quilt from some of his shirts for them. I've never shared the quilt on the blog or even on social media. But today is the day to share the story.
