After a few days of being indecisive on what I would want to "permanently" display on our house, I thought of a brilliant (to me) idea: a Christmas barn quilt!

My Snowfall pattern was perfect! (Available in my Etsy and Craftsy stores.)
I chose a few modern Christmas colors and got to work. (Kona Breakers, Lipstick, Cactus, and Punch)
I made four blocks to make a 28" square mini quilt. The pattern is all traditionally pieced. No paper piecing or applique.
I immediately decided I should have made more blocks to make a throw quilt! I absolutely love the colors!
During a baby nap, I pin basted using Warm & Natural batting and a backing fabric that I've had in my stash for several years.
Using my walking foot and 50wt Aurifil #2024 White, I quilted straight vertical lines. I used the edge of the walking foot to determine the width of the lines. The are likely about 3/8" apart.
Amazingly, I got all the quilting done during the nap!
Unfortunately for the quilt, mom duty called and I wasn't able to finish the quilt in time for the contest deadline. BUT, I still entered a photo of the quilt top on Instagram - so I'm still in the running!
I used a dark gray cross-hatch fabric for binding.
This is my 52nd quilt finish for the year!
I found an aqua barn for some quilt photos! (It's actually the barn for our local police horses!)
That's my five year old behind the quilt. He was the perfect size for holding this one!
I absolutely love this quilt. The colors are so me! I think I would equally love the Snowfall quilt in aqua and navy solids too!
There were quite a few entries in the contest. Kristi is going to choose her top four favorites in the next few days, then there will be a vote to determine the winner. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
