If you're new here, hello! I'm Laura! I design quilt patterns, and I'm a self-proclaimed deal hunter! Be sure to join the popular Quilting & Sewing Deals Facebook group where I post sales, deals, and coupon codes from all around the web!
I used colorful scraps from my stash for the books.
All the piecing and quilting was done with white Coats & Clark thread. I used polyester batting.
I stitched in the ditch around each book for the quilting, then sewed the binding on by machine (tutorial here).
My absolute favorite part is the library pocket quilt label!!
I printed the label with my inkjet printer. Since the card can be removed before the quilt is washed, I didn't even worry about whether or not it would hold up to washing.
The pocket is hand-sewn to the back of the quilt.
After posting photos of the finished quilt on Instagram, I had several requests for the pattern. So I began the long learning process of designing and writing my very first quilt pattern! The pattern was released in June 2016. The pattern can be purchased on Etsy in both paper and digital formats!
