I Spy Quilt

After joining Pinterest, I found an I Spy quilt that I liked, so I started collecting fabrics. I got fabrics from scrap bags, fat quarters, and even got some from other quilters!

I used a disappearing nine patch pattern, but modified it. Each corner was an I Spy print, but all the other squares were white. For the three squares in the middle, I just cut one rectangle. The squares are 3 1/2". I purchased a 3 1/2" acrylic square to fussy cut the I Spy fabrics.

I started sewing the blocks on May 7, 2014 and finished the top on May 12, 2014. I took the quilt top to "Sew and Tell" at the Piney River Quilt Guild that I belonged to in 2014.

I bought backing fabric at FM Stores in Springfield, Missouri. I bought the binding fabric at the Cabool, Missouri drug store during a fabric sale.

I had it quilted by longarmer, Kathy Michel. I gave it to her Halloween weekend 2014 and got it back January 8, 2015. It cost $14 to have it quilted with an allover stipple design.

I gave it to my oldest son for Christmas 2015 (he was 2 1/2). He loves it!
