I get to share a finish this week that was actually finished almost a year ago!! This quilt was made to show off the Reflections fabric collection by Island Batik, and it appeared in their catalog to sell the fabric. But that meant that I had to make it in secret - starting over a year ago!

------------
I first received digital images of the fabric in February of last year (so 15 months prior to this post!). Which means the fabric designer and fabric company really started the process of this specific fabric collection about 24 months ago! I mocked up my Split Arrows quilt pattern using the digital swatches of the fabric (shown below).
The fabric company accepted this quilt to be in the catalog, so they shipped me the fabric in March of 2023.
Of course I can not find ANY photos of the fabric or process of sewing the quilt together. You'd think this was my first time blogging a quilt finish! (Face palm!)
I do have this photo showing the fun variegated thread that I used for quilting!
I used a medium-sized free-motion meander on the quilt and a natural color 80/20 batting.
The binding was the same fabric as the sashing - a dark color almost to create a stained glass look!
Of course I added a label! Then I shipped it to Island Batik in California at the end of June 2023. They took photos for their catalog, then shipped it back to me in August. Then I had to hold on to it and wait until now to share it with you, because the fabric is finally available in quilt shops! 15 months after I first saw the digital fabric images!
I absolutely love the saturated colors in batiks! They're so bright and vibrant!
I think the finished quilt turned out better than the digital mock-up, but it's cool to see how close they really were to each other!
This is my third time making a Split Arrows quilt, and I have taught this as a workshop for quilt guilds several times. You can look at the other versions I have made HERE and HERE. This is a fun pattern, as none of the seams match up! It's meant to be random! You can get the pattern in my shop HERE.
Now it's your turn to share something you've finished - maybe more recently than mine! ;) I'm hosting TGIFF (Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday) this week. Link up your Facebook post, Instagram post, or blog post below so we can high five you on your finish!
