Sometimes, the things my quilty friends create make me want to throw a party!! And THIS is one of those things!

Patchwork of Salvation Advent book and quilt

My friend Jen of Faith and Fabric created an Advent devotional book to go along with her Jesse Tree quilt pattern!!

Patchwork of Salvation Advent book

Jen has a pattern called the Jesse Tree quilt. It has 25 paper pieced blocks that tell the story of salvation from Genesis to Jesus. You might remember this block that I sewed last year from the pattern!

Well, now Jen has written a book of devotions to go along with the pattern!!

The book is written with the intent of Advent. You can read one devotion each day leading up to Advent. What a great way to start the Christmas season each year! Get out your quilt, and read the devotions that go with the blocks!

Solid fabrics for a Jesus quilt block

In the spirit of tradition, I pulled some solid fabrics from my stash to make another block from the Jesse Tree pattern.

I added it to my letter board, and now I have the first Christmas decoration up for the year!

I made a fun video of me making the block, so be sure to watch that on Instagram or Facebook! Each block takes just a few hours to make, so you could sew one block each day leading up to Christmas!

Or like me, you could read the devotion book each year, be inspired to make another block, and have the making become part of your Christmas tradition.

Be sure to check out Jen's video about the book too!
