Remember my musical friend that I made this baby quilt for a few months ago? Well, she and her family just moved out of state, so I wanted to make her a housewarming gift for her new home. I have a bundle of one of the Songbook collections by Fancy That Designs for Moda, and I knew one of the hymn panels would make a great mini quilt!

I chose the "Tune my Heart" panel and a few coordinating fat quarters from the Songbook collection.
I cut four 1" strips of the navy fabric to sew around the panel for an inner border, then cut four 2" strips for the outside border. And that was the whole quilt top! I used one of the fat quarters for the backing and layered a scrap piece of 80/20 batting to make the quilt sandwich.
I used my walking foot to stitch diagonal lines about an inch apart (though I didn't measure, so it's likely a bit less than that).
Then I turned the quilt around and stitched diagonal lines in the opposite direction to make a cross-hatch quilting design.
Once the quilting was done, I added the binding by machine (tutorial here).
The finished quilt is about 14" x 18", and it only took about an hour to make! (I get my quilt labels from here!)
I hope my friends loves it for her new home!

Happy quilting!
