I have quite a few finished quilts that I've never shared on the blog, so I've set a goal to start sharing those this year! First up is the Besties quilt!

If you're new here, hello! I'm Laura! I design quilt patterns, and I'm a self-proclaimed deal hunter! Be sure to join the popular Quilting & Sewing Deals Facebook group where I post sales, deals, and coupon codes from all around the web!
This quilt was inspired by the trend of trading friendship bracelets! Taylor Swift concertgoers have popularized that again, but I don't think it ever went out of style! It's so fun to make the bracelets and gift them! (I mean, even Travis Kelce used it to get the attention of Taylor!)
The Besties quilt has a unique feature that would get me arrested by the quilt police! There are NO seams! None at all! There isn't any piecing required to make the lap-sized quilt!
It's all raw-edge applique! So you just put fusible on the back of the fabrics, trace the shapes and letters from the pattern, cut them out, then arrange them how you like on the background fabric! Once in place, press, then just quilt over the top of it!
I did not sew around each letter or bead shape, I just quilted over the top. You definitely *could* sew around all the shapes, I just didn't do that. I used Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 for the fusible, and you could certainly use something even more permanent if you're worried the edges might peel up.
The pattern includes all the letters of the alphabet so you can create your own words!
This version is the one I put on the cover of the pattern, but I've made a couple other versions I'll share soon too.
This would be a great quilt to make with a tween or teen! They could help cut out the shapes and arrange them on the background fabric!
You can get the pattern in my shop HERE. I can't wait to see all the fun words and sayings people come up with for this quilt!
