When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce started dating, I wanted to make a quilt to join in the Kansas City fun!

I've now made three different Besties quilts - but this one is the most likely to be seen during a football game! You can see the other versions HERE and HERE.

I picked these two solid fabrics from my stash and the pattern for the Besties quilt, and a plan was born.

First, I pressed the fusible web to the back of all the bead fabrics (I used Lite Steam-A-Seam 2), then I cut them out with scissors.

The Besties quilt pattern comes with all the letters, but I added the numbers in order to make this happen! (In case you're wondering, 87 is Travis Kelce's football jersey number, and 13 is Taylor Swift's favorite number.)

I used my regular sewing machine to quilt a medium-sized meander over the entire quilt. I used yellow 50wt Aurifil thread right over the black fabric and the beads.

And you're probably wondering if I sewed the edges of the beads down first. The answer is no! Call the quilt police! If the edges start to peel up, the bead won't fall off because I quilted through it!

Last was to add a red binding to tie it all together! (Tutorial here.) The finished quilt measures about 18" x 40" - a great banner wall hanging, table runner, or a bed pillow!

The Chiefs did not have a season worth celebrating this year, but I'm ready for the "royal" wedding!

Now it's your turn! Have you finished something lately? Link up your own blog or social media post below so we can high five you!
