Welcome to my stop on the Flower Pot blog hop!
The Flower Pot collection is a signature collection from Island Batik for my friend Jennifer of The Inquiring Quilter. When she asked if I wanted to join in the blog hop and make something with the fabric, I knew exactly what I wanted to make!

The Flower Pot collection is a mix of floral batiks, with lots of pinks. I've been wanting to make a Rose Garden quilt for awhile (from the FREE pattern!), so this was the perfect chance!
I used a cream/yellow-ish batik fabric from my stash for the background, and a green batik (also from my stash!) for the leaves and stems. I used all the pink and yellow fabrics from the collection for the flowers.
Then I loaded the quilt on my longarm with some red batik fabric from my stash for the back, a scrap of 80/20 batting, and quilted a medium-sized meander with a cream thread.
I used the same green batik fabric for the binding, and sewed one of my quilt labels on the back.
Even though fall is starting here, these flowers make me hopeful for spring!
The finished quilt is about 36" x 48", which is a great throw or lap quilt size.
I've seen several versions of this Rose Garden quilt since I released the free pattern. It works well with this batik fabric collection, but I've seen some people make really scrappy flowers too.
The pattern is FREE, so you can get it and make your own Rose Garden quilt!
Be sure to hop over to all the other blogs to see what they made with the Flower Pot fabric!
