It's the last day of May, so that must mean it's time to share another Island Batik ambassador quilt! This month is all about modern quilts!

I'm still recovering from the Quilt Market hangover. All the prep work leading up to the show, the hustle of setting up and tearing down, plus the actual show - it was all very exhausting! I plan to do a couple additional blog posts to share how my husband made my booth and how I made a miniature of my booth, so watch for those in the coming days!
But this post is to celebrate that I made 80 quilts in the 30 days before Market!!
When I decided that I would have a booth at Market (way back in November!), I immediately knew I wanted to also participate in Sample Spree. Sample Spree is a buying frenzy of just a couple hours where buyers can be the first to purchase new products and fabrics. I wanted to make shop samples (completed quilts in the small or mini sizes) of several of my patterns so shops could take them back to their shops immediately without having to do any work themselves.

Yesterday afternoon, I heard the UPS truck pull up in front of our house. Although I've ordered quite an extensive amount of things for my Quilt Market booth (just two more weeks!), I wasn't expecting anything yesterday. He handed me a package from F+W Media and inside was a book - Beyond the Block.
I had absolutely no idea why this book came to me. I first checked the address on the package to see if it was delivered to the wrong address. Nope. Then I checked the author's name to see if it was a friend. Nope. I checked the receipt to see if it was a gift. Nope. So I shrugged my shoulders and fanned the pages.
Then this happened: WHAAATTTTT?!?!?!?!?!? Go back!!!! What was that?!?!? THAT'S MY QUILT!!!

This month's Island Batik Ambassador challenge was to use the Accuquilt Go! cutting machine to make a 40" square baby quilt. As you know, I'm smack in the middle of Quilt Market prep, so I really don't have time to do anything not related to Market, but I'm not one to skip out on a commitment! So I made decisions on what to make and how to make it based on what would be the fastest.
The result is this 40" square baby quilt that took me exactly 3 hours to make!

Ever since starting Slice of Pi Quilts in 2016, I have wanted to make a quilt using my business logo. But I never had a reason to do it - until now!
Quilt Market is just four weeks away. This week, I finished the last of my four new patterns (and the quilts!) that I will be releasing at Market, and my husband started building my booth. Then I started on my logo quilt.
