A PINK Quilt with Island Batik!

Thursday, October 20, 2022

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, also called Pinktober. I've had two friends diagnosed with breast cancer this year, so it feels a little more personal than in years past.

A PINK Quilt with JOANN

Friday, October 7, 2022

Breast cancer statistics always feel so...unrelatable. Until this year. Two of my friends are among the nearly 300,000 women that will be diagnosed in the US this year. They have faced their battles with dignity, bravery, and strength. As a quilter, I feel compelled to encourage them on their journey by making quilts!

I've partnered with JOANN to make an all PINK quilt!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and you can make a donation at the register at your local JOANN store through October 29th to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and their efforts to make an impact on research, health, and advocacy.

Double sided space themed flannel quilt made with a quilt-as-you-go technique

It started with a bundle of the Blast Off fabrics designed by Shawn Wallace for Riley Blake Designs. They're FLANNEL! And of course with three boys, anything space related is an instant hit, so I knew I HAD to make a quilt with them!

A friend of mine (that's a music teacher) recently had a baby boy. When hunting for inspiration in my stash, I found this old music print with aqua colored blue birds on it. I knew it was just the starting point I needed!
